Excellent design and quality of construction. Best selection if you want to add an egpu.

I ordered the bare bones version of the 5900hx because I had spare parts on hand from other builds to populate the memory and nvme as well as the windows os. While windows loaded most of the drivers needed, downloading the AMD Radeon Adrenalin software and running it loaded the video and chipset drivers. The only issue I really had was finding and installing the MediaTek Bluetooth driver. The only thing I would add is that with no Clear Cmos button the procedure to clear cmos is pretty simple. The connector for the cmos battery to the motherboard is on the top side of the PC in a corner. With ac power disconnected and all usb ports disconnected, simply pull the cmos battery plug and leave it disconnected for a few minutes before plugging it back in. This will reset the bios to default settings.

In operation, all components are well integrated and the cpu is exceptionally fast. The system is very responsive and the benchmarks I have run thus far show this is an exceptionally powerful machine.

The primary reason I bought this pc is that it is one of a very few mini pc's with 2 genuine NVME slots. This was important to me as I wanted to add an egpu connecting to the 2nd NVME while still running the os from the first NVME slot in order to get as much speed and efficiency as possible from the pc. The ability to add a sata ssd is a big plus as well. I had been using an Intel NUC 8 extreme "Hades Canyon" prior to this. Again, I had chosen the nuc 8 because it had 2 nvme slots. However, the intel core i7 8809g is not in the same league as the 5900hx.

I moved the AMD RX 6800 XT from the NUC to the S500. Morefine has thoughtfully provided 2 standoffs to install on the bottom rear of the case to allow passing the egpu cable through a gap created by the standoffs to facilitate using an egpu. I deeply appreciate their forward thinking in incorporating this feature in to their design.

Since adding the egpu, the benchmark scores I am getting are frankly eye-popping. This setup more than rivals most desktops, and is the most powerful pc I have owned to date. I cannot recommend this more highly. I would also add that if you want to get a mini pc with the purpose of adding an egpu, this is the mini pc you definitely want to get.

OpenBSD and the Morefine S500+ is just incredible!

The Morefine S500+ is the most awesome mini computer I have ever used.

I was looking for a mini computer to connect to my Television at work. I had already bought two different computers in the past, but I was not happy with either of them. They would crash often or run incredibly slow, the Internet was always disconnecting. They were not cheap either, basically just expensive junk. I was not happy.

As time went by I gave up on the idea of using a mini computer and had been waiting for a replacement laptop which of course would not be available for another few months. So I decided to look at different computers with similar specifications and out of curiosity I wondered if anyone had designed a mini computer with this kind of hardware that a laptop would use. That is when I stumbled upon the Morefine S500+. Of course the price was bit hefty but it was a rather new product at the time. So I decided to buy the stripped down model with no RAM or NvME. Unfortunately this option wasn't available to me, so in the end I chose to go the 512GB 16GB Ryzen 9 5900HX as the cheapest but at the same time a rather powerful choice.

I had seen many videos and many reviews and thought that this item can't be as good as they say it is. However, that all changed when I opened the box and saw what I had received. I removed the 512GB NvME and replaced it with a 1TB NvME, then installed the Operating System, OpenBSD 7.0 and it booted. I could not believe it! The screen chosen? The ultrawide, curved 34" Titan Army and voila! It ran flawlessly.

After fully configuring the Operating System and running a complete test I had found myself using the Morefine S500+ on a daily basis. Eventually the S500+ would become my main driver.

A few months later the new laptop had arrived as well. It is still sitting next to me but is rarely being used. The Morefine S500+ is just perfect. It is easy to move around, easy to clean, has a lot more ports available. I can throw it in backpack and not even worry about a broken screen since it doesn’t have one. Not only do I use a wireless keyboard and mouse, but when I want to sit back and relax on the recliner, I am able to control it with an Rii X8+ portable keypad which is not related to Morefine but I had bought separately on ebay just in case I wanted to take the Morefine S500+ with me on a business trip so that it could be connected to a television in the hotel.

My work is very difficult, quite dangerous, very long hours and requires a lot of standing around boilers and monitoring equipment for possible leaks. I like to have a TV playing in the background. The TV at my workplace uses one of the old mini computers I had bought a while back and it just keeps on crashing. You don't need this kind of distraction in my working environment. So I bought another Morefine S500+. This time I splurged and grabbed the same model but with 64GB of RAM. It also had a 512 GB NvME as well, which I had swapped around.

My main driver is now the new 64GB of RAM Morefine S500+ Ryzen 9 5900HX with 2x1TB NvME drives and a single 2TB SATA hard disk all running on OpenBSD 7.1.

My office television is running the 16GB of RAM Morefine S500+ Ryzen 9 5900HX with a 512GB NvME and OpenBSD 7.1. It runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week at my office, connected to the TV and I only do a reboot when updating the software.

I could do a list of pros and cons but to be honest, the only two cons I have are both to do with the SATA cable. The power connector for the SATA drive isn't convenient. It is difficult to unplug and in doing so caused the body of the connector socket to separate from the board. This isn't a serious issue but it is worth mentioning. The other is the cable gets in the way when closing the unit.

For the pros, this machine is worth way more than what you pay for it. It supports Windows 10/11, CRUX Linux (That means it can support pretty much any Linux distribution) and even OpenBSD. It can handle multiple screens and even large screens. I can play 0ad or flight gear on it and it runs flawlessly. I use it for video compression which generates a bit of heat and I have even played X-Plane 11 on it. If anyone knows X Plane 11 it uses a lot of hardware resources and you will definitely get some very high temperatures on the Morefine S500+ with it.

With all that said. The Morefine S500+ is just a beast that works. I have been using the Morefine S500+ as my main machine for more than 8 months straight. My machines are usually never shut down, and if so, only for a kernel or system upgrade. The longest being 6:19PM up 31 days, 4:59, 4 users, load averages: 0.08, 0.14, 0.19, and yet it is still going and going and going and I am not sure if it will ever stop.

Insane power on a budget

I am a professional SEO and live on my computer. This is absolutely the best machine I have ever purchased. The snappyness of it is insane. I bought the 64+1TB to give me some time as far as future proof. So happy with my purchase. Don't listen to the reviews. There were no typos on my box and the machine is a super beast. I recommend this to anyone.

Excellent PC
It's run like a gazelle

I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I'm very impressed this little PC. It's beautifully and stoutly built, slick to setup and blazingly fast. I've put it through everything I can throw at it for the past few weeks, from my business apps to gaming and streaming video, and it's run like a gazelle. I honestly haven't found a single thing not to like about this mini-PC. I have two other name brand mini's I use for my job and neither of them compares to this one from morefine 5900HX. I couldn't be happier with the value of this purchase.
